Singapore Takes Over as Host for WorldSkills ASEAN Singapore 2020

Singapore takes over as host for WorldSkills ASEAN Singapore 2020 at the Closing Ceremony of the WorldSkills ASEAN 2018 Competition.

Ms Low Yen Ling, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Manpower, Singapore took over the WorldSkills ASEAN Flag from H.E. Police General Adul Sangsingkeo, Minister of Labour, Thailand at the closing ceremony of the 12th ASEAN Skills Competition on 4 September 2018. 

The biennial competition aims to promote skills standards in the ASEAN region, as well as to motivate youths to develop their skills to meet international standards. Young talents from 10 ASEAN countries will compete for medals in 22 skills areas such as automotive technology, cooking, electrical installations, electronics, hairdressing, internet of things, mobile robotics, and restaurant service at the 13th ASEAN Skills Competition. 

The event will provide an opportunity for ASEAN members to share their views and experience in skills development and promote stronger friendships and understanding.
